WIPTE

Is it possible that the Tablet in use engages both sides of the brain???

If notetaking is so important, then we should hold them accountable for it... paraphrasing to build understanding.

I have been using Tablet PC’s in my high school for approximately two years. As part of an Intel grant 20 teachers were provide tablets and wireless projectors. I can't even begin to describe what a great solution this has been for our staff! We have continued to add tablets as part of our teacher technology deployment.

After observing a Math/Computer Science class at MIT using teacher/student tablets in the classroom I am convinced this is the direction we should move. We are hoping to pilot a tablet cart with a group of math students next year. Our math teachers are making movies/mathcasts and posting online to our teaching portal

I have present at several local conferences to share our tablet experience. I agree the tablets are not marketed well and the vendors need to work more closely with schools. There is nothing more powerful than watching an educator use the features of the tablet.

I am now considering attending the WIPE conference next month! I am hoping there will K-12 schools at the conference.
